For the first few days following surgery you will want to take pain medication and get plenty of rest. You will be sore, but you will want to make sure that you get up to walk at regular intervals to decrease the risk of a blood clot in your legs or lungs. When you wake up from surgery, you will have gauze bandages over your incisions. In addition, you will be wearing an abdominal binder and a post-op surgical bra.
